Introducing the Defender XD Truck Fire Skid, available in 150, 200, and 325-gallon sizes and designed for both 1/2-ton and heavy-duty trucks. Built around five key applications—wildfire protection, prescribed burning, water transport, equipment washing, and spraying—the Defender XD is a versatile, heavy-duty system built for years of reliable service. With a wide range of accessories and upgrades, you can customize your Defender XD to meet your needs and tackle any job with confidence.
Wildland Fire Fighting
The standard WATERAX VERSAX® 6 high-pressure pump delivers 120 PSI/105 GPM, paired with a 1" Kochek selectable aluminum NFPA nozzle offering 10-24 GPM flow and up to 65' reach. Larger pump and nozzle options are available.
Water Drafting/Hauling
The Defender XD comes standard with a 12' x 2" draft/discharge hose and strainer, allowing the onboard pump to quickly refill the tank and get you back on the fire within minutes.
Prescribed Burning
- The standard 100' x 1" Kochek lightweight booster hose, 1" selectable aluminum NFPA nozzle with 10-24 GPM flow and up to 65' reach, and hose reel provide an efficient setup for prescribed burning and single-person operation.
Equipment Washing
The WATERAX VERSAX® 6-Series pump, 1" booster hose, and 10-24 GPM nozzle provide excellent pressure and volume for washing equipment, trailers, and more.

Booster Hose, Nozzle, and Reel
The Defender XD includes a 100' x 1" lightweight NFPA booster hose, a durable 1" aluminum nozzle with 10-24 GPM settings and up to 65' reach, and a powder-coated Reelcraft hose reel with manual rewind. Electric rewind is available as an upgrade.
Heavy-Duty Polyethylene Tank
Durable black polyethylene tank resists cracks, chips, ruptures, and algae growth. Includes a sight tube with yellow float for easy water-level monitoring. Available in 150, 200, and 325-gallon capacities.
Strength and Versatility: Frame
Built with 1/8" steel tubing and angle iron, the heavy-duty frame features forklift runners, tie-downs, and bolt-down points. Made with USA steel for lasting durability.
Standard Truck Beds
Measuring 60" long and 48" wide, the Defender 150XD and 200XD fit 5.5' short-bed 1/2-ton trucks while allowing the tailgate to close.
Turn-Key Package
The Defender XD includes standard features like a 12' x 2" draft/discharge hose and strainer, 1-gallon gas can, storage box, tank sight tube, Banjo flange manifold, and more.
Durable Manifold
Durable Banjo polypropylene construction resists leaks, cracks, and chemicals. Accessible fittings simplify repairs, while the pressure gauge and tank-level sight tube make monitoring easy. Includes 1" gated male NPSH and 2" male Camlock discharges.
Drafting/Hauling Water
The Defender XD includes a standard drafting hose and strainer, allowing you to quickly refill the tank using the onboard fire pump. Spend less time looking for water and more time getting the job done.
